Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] Maybe Bank Swallow, 13th St. Imperial Beach
Bit of a half-report, but I’m fairly sure I saw a Bank Swallow briefly in the sizeable roving swallow flock at the Bayshore Bikeway in Imperial Beach. Specifically, I saw the subject bird while standing next to the bridge that’s right there at 13th St.

Noticeably small swallow even at close range, sandy brown on top with what looked like a good breast band below. The swallows moved on quickly and I couldn’t refind, but it may be worth spending some time with the swallows here if you come earlier in the morning.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
