Subject: [NHBirds] Lyme Indigo Bunting -- Friday, April 11
Seen at about noon on the home property as we were heading up the driveway. It flew up out of the grass and  into some nearby trees lining the driveway. I did not get a good look at it. It was my wife's exclamation, "Look at that blue bird!" that got my attention. She described it as dark blue all over with an iridescent glow. That certainly does not describe an eastern bluebird with its more varied coloration. My earliest, previous indigo bunting sighting was on May 3, 2015. An indigo bunting is one of those birds that would be hard to misidentify given the extremely limited range of options.
