Subject: [CT Birds] A banded Brant
In the category of always seeing something interesting any time you go out: I stopped by Bradley Point Park in West Haven this morning and saw a large flock of Brant feeding on the grass by the parking lot (driven there by the high tide and storm, no doubt). I looked through them (hoping to see a Black Brant) and saw a bird with bands on its legs. I was able to read the bands and have reported the sighting to the US Geological Service. I am hoping for a response. It will be interesting to find out where and when this bird was banded!
