Subject: [nysbirds-l] Manhattan, NYC - 4/7 - Virginia Rail, N. Parula, etc.
Manhattan, N.Y. City - Monday, April 7th -

Among the lingering birds at Bryant Park in mid-Manhattan, a Virginia Rail was seen again as was at least one American Woodcock. At Canal Park, along Canal Street in lower Manhattan, a N. Parula was an early-bird for that site and for all of the county.

Many other migrants also continued for Monday, in Manhattan and elsewhere within N.Y. County. Some species that were found in notable numbers around the island and more-widely in the county Monday included E. Phoebe, Hermit Thrush, Pine Warbler and Slate colored - Dark-eyed Juncos, though all of those -and other typical early migrants- had been numerous here before April 7th as well.

Good birding to all,

Tom Fiore
