Based on Steve's prior report, we made a run up to Grand Pass CA today where we found thousands of AGPLs in adjacent agriculture fields. A sweep of binoculars across the furrowed fields turned every supposed mud clump into a plover. It was an astonishing sight to see.
There was no influx of shorebirds as I had hoped but we had Brewers, Rusty, Red-winged and multiple Yellow-headed blackbirds. Dabbling ducks remain as do the 2 Harris sparrows (in brushpile by headquarters) now transitioning into breeding plumage.
Thanks, Steve, for the nudge to go exploring.
