I went back down to the refuge today to check on The conditions and the number of American Golden Plovers. The moisture levels in that pool are decreasing resulting in less mudflats. I only found about 350 Plovers there this time. I did have a couple of flocks of 25 - 50 flyby at other locations also. Pretty high water levels throughout the rest of the area, so still large numbers of Pelicans, Cormorants, and Coots.
