Subject: [Ohio-birds] Loons - Clinton. And a GBBG
I am enjoying these sky ponds! One really deep one had gulls. Including
an adult GBBG. A nice rarity for our area! Gleason quarry had one Common
Loon. That’s all I needed! I figured if one here, then many at Cowan lake. Nope….
You never know! I did have a Red throated loon though! Another good one
For my big year! And a Clinton bird! I picked up passerines. And Cooper’s hawk was
New. Etc.

I was in Hamilton county in the morning. Most of the Common Loons at Lake
Barber had left last night. I wasn’t surprised - even with the NW winds - Lake
Barber was an unplanned stop for them.

I checked a couple creek areas in Clinton. I still need L. Waterthrush. The raging
Torrents didn’t help! Maybe in a week the water will be back to normal!

Green darners around. Good birding all.
