Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] Swainson's Hawks Return to Borrego Springs
This evening between 125-150 Swainson's Hawks dropped into the Date Farm on
Borrego Valley Rd. Tomorrow with a light wind they will kettle up between
8:30 and 9:30am. Best viewing most likely from DiGiorgio Rd around 1 mile
north of Palm Canyon Drive. Or you can check in at the official count site
2.8 miles north of Palm Canyon Drive on DiGiorgio Rd. It is possible that
some hawks will go to ground along Borrego Valley Rd before kettling up.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
