Subject: [AZNMbirds] 3 Towhee Morning
Along with all the usual desert species generally in my yard this time of
year on the west side of Little Cat Mountain, the Black Throated Sparrows
and Rufous-winged Sparrows,etc. Green-tailed, Canyon and Abert's Towhees
all appeared this morning. The individual species are not unusual, but this
is the first day I've seen them all within a couple of hours.

And this is the season of brilliantly-plummaged Yellow-rumped Warblers
passing through. They're dazzling. After years of avoiding non-native plant
species, I weakened and installed a bottlebrush, just to see if lightning
would strike. Lucy's Warblers seem to be very forgiving.

In eight years at this location April 15 is the earliest we've seen quail
with chicks. Soon.
