On Wednesday, 02 April 2025, Sheila Raymond, Edward Rooks, and Andy Melnick led a Santa Clara Valley Bird Alliance (SCVBA) field trip to Vasona Lake County Park in Los Gatos in Santa Clara County, California, ably assisted by guidance from Matthew Dodder (SCVBA Executive Director), and joined by ten other birders.
It was a lovely spring day — sunny, calm, and mild — and extremely birdy. We were rewarded with observing a large number of species, including Western Kingbird, Hooded Oriole, a number of Green Herons, five different species of Swallows, and both Swifts.
Do not disclose information that identifies the location of nesting birds of any species, to minimize stress on the nesting birds and the risk of vandalism or abuse.
