The two Lessers also had whiter flanks without the dense dark barring of the Greater. Comparative photos to be uploaded later."

Swainson's Thrush (Catharus ustulatus) (1)
- Reported Apr 01, 2025 09:01 by Kevin Zimmer
- San Simeon SP, San Luis Obispo, California

- Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S222562062
- Comments: "Early date for this species. Obvious Catharus thrush with uniformly warm, rufescent brown upper parts, lacking the obvious contrast between bright rufous tail and dull brown back and folded wings of Hermit Thrush; also, with buff cast to eye ring, sides of neck and flanks (not distinctly gray as in Hermit Thrush), as well as the ground-color of the dark-spotted breast. Seen twice, skulking in the willows, and did not vocalize."

- Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S222709909
- Comments: "Possibly continuing. Same plumage as wintering bird that I’ve seen and heard in the western park area multiple times since last fall. Still, could be an early migrant. Larger than a yellow-rumper. Greenish-yellow overall with double wingbars, lower whitish, upper yellowy-green, on dark wings. Yellow-orange lower bill. More yellow on underside, more greenish head. Didnt see back. Heard calling then saw the bird in northwestern park trees along creek next to homes. High in canopy. In mixed flock. Photo"
