Weather:
Upon arriving at Site 1A (Rt 5) at 9:15, the temperature was 5.55c Winds
were NNE gusting @ 5 mph. It was overcast upon arrival, and the sky got
darker as the day progressed. Weather Radar indicated rain was on its way
from the Ashtabula/Erie Area. Winds were unpredictable throughout today's
watch, often shifting with an easterly element. Birds were not coming
through !A, but I could see inland activity. Temperatures were nearly
identical at the 3 inland sites. Very few birds were coming over Sites 2
and 3, so I moved to 1B (Forsyth Road) where a steady flow of TV's and a
few raptors were coming through directly over I90 at a high altitude. I
used all 4 sites during the period of today's watch.

Raptor Observations:
The majority of today's TV's were spotted from Site 1B. From 10:30 AM -
11:45 AM, 111 TV's passed over Forsyth Bridge. It was another disapointing
day for raptors with only 2 Red-tailed hawks, and 2 Sharp-skinned hawks.
There were two sightings of local Bald Eagles, both from Site 1A @ 11:45AM
& 12:26PM, just before the watch shut down @ 12:30 PM. More than likely,
it was the same local Bald Eagle based on its route coming and going.

Non-raptor Observations:
Gulls, Canada Geese, blackbirds, and swallows were scattered throughout the
3 hour period.

Predictions:
Windy with rain showers in the morning then partly cloudy in the afternoon.
High 63F. Winds SW at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of rain 60%. Winds could
occasionally gust over 40 mph. Tomorrow holds considerable promise for a
meaningful flight, especially with the morning rain, partial clearing in
the afternoon and temps in the high 60's. The predicted SW winds with
gusts over 40 mph have the potential to push a variety of raptors through
Site 1. If the forecast holds true, it could be a very busy day requiring
multiple observers.
