The WHITE-THROATED SPARROW that has been hanging out at the feeders has always struck me as a “tan-striped” individual. There was a second White-throat way across the meadow the other day that appeared to be a more contrasty “white-striped” individual. Today, that brighter bird was at the feeder and calling repeatedly.
Along the creek trail I heard at least 4 WARBLING VIREOS with a possible 5th giving a scolding call. They were spread out along the first half of the trail beginning at the corner of the main lot.
One ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER was heard near the alpacas, but the Wilson’s Warbler and Western Flycatcher were silent or possibly moved on. The Black-headed Grosbeak was a one-day bird, but there will be more soon.
