Subject: Bluebird observation
Good morning all and good spring birding!

I have an observation this morning. The pair of bluebirds nested one week ago today- the female in the box, didn’t come out til late afternoon after spending the previous 5 days bringing nest materials, etc. and the male in close proximity. That’s continued. The male occasionally jumps against his reflection in the windows defending the “territory”. I have not disturbed the box (and don’t have remote camera inside so some of this is conjecture, BUT). So the female is flying against the windows this morning, and I observed the male go in the box, and has stayed for more than an hour. I know the male doesn’t incubate any eggs, but at 7 days incubation, (likely less) the eggs shouldn’t have hatched, so………………..guess he’s just straightening the house? 😊. Eagerly anticipating a hatch this week!!
