Subject: [northbaybirds] Ongoing Tufted Duck (first seen by William Legge/Everett Clark) @ Binford Rd./Rush Creek Wetland, Novato, Marin Co.
Today, when birding with William Legge, he initially spotted the ongoing *TUFTED DUCK* that he and/or Everett Clark originally observed 2-3 weeks ago...Subsequently, several other birders have reported it.

Today's digiscoped photos of my observation of this species are at:

https://ebird.org/checklist/S221986054

My eBird summary for this species:

"Ongoing; seen by many birders in March, 2025; today's initial sighting was by William Legge, who mentioned it to me so I was able to successfully use my own scope to observe it. Dark back and tuft on male was evident (See photos, here).

I digiscoped it for the photos shown here because the individual was 1,500+ feet from our Binford Rd. perch approximately 500' north of the fire road ingress to the trail that traverses the south side of this wetland (i.e., The fire road access trail is 1/8th of a mile north of the Park N' Ride lot on the corner of Binford and Atherton.)

Scope essential for viewing. My camera could NOT capture articulate features from so far away; however, my Swarovski digiscope attachment provided suitable photos for diagnostic ID per the above link #.
