Subject: [southbaybirds] Birdathon: Backyard Birds and Coffee
Hi Everyone!

This morning, as part of my Backyard Birds and Coffee Birdathon Team, I
birded Heintz, Belgatos, and Los Capitancillos. It was so windy and misty,
the little birds were hard to find. I did get good looks at *Wrentits* at
both Heintz and Belgatos. *California Thrashers* were heard only at
Belgatos. And at Los Capitancillos I had my FOS* Warbling Vireo*. There
were surprisingly few ducks on the west-side of Los Capitancillos.

There's still time to support my team here
<https://scvas.app.neoncrm.com/np/clients/scvas/campaignTeam.jsp?campaignId=175&teamId=124&>.
Or if you'd like to join either of my other two teams or any other
birdathon team, check out our birdathon page
<https://scvbirdalliance.org/birdathon>. The donations SCVBA receives from
the Birdathon go a long way to support the education programs of our
organization. In particular, our Wetlands Discovery Program is something to
be proud of. This program, which has been running for over 30 years, teaches
wetlands ecology through in-class and outdoor learning to over 2000
elementary school kids each year.

My trip report: https://ebird.org/tripreport/346164

p.s. This distributed team spotted 80 species this morning! That's 8 more
species this year than last year.

Happy birding!
Eve Meier (San Jose)
