For a time during my tenure at American Bird Conservancy, Victor served on
our Board of Directors. He was a solid guy with a keen interest in linking
bird watching with conservation. Among other activities, he brought ABC and
Tucson Audubon together to buy the Patton property in Patagonia, AZ. It was
long known among birders as a hotspot, especially for hummingbirds, and
when the Pattons passed away, Victor was very focused on it not being lost
to the birding community. We were able to buy it and it is now wholly owned
and managed by Tucson Audubon.
Very best to all,
George Wallace
