Weather: The day started out with clear skies and temps in the high 20s. By the afternoon, some clouds moved in and temps reached a high of 47F. Winds started from the WNW, but shifted to the SW by mid afternoon.
Raptor Observations: The morning started out relatively slowly with only a trickle of birds moving. One Red-shouldered Hawk made a brief appearance along with a handful of vultures. By the early afternoon Turkey Vulture migration picked up and we tallied 790 for the day. Red-tailed Hawks (11) and Bald Eagles (15) were scattered throughout the day, moving high in the blue sky. A few American Kestrels and Northern Harriers also passed by the platform.
Non-raptor Observations: The highlight of the day was a flock of 17 Common Ravens that flew over. The American Coot flock continues in the bay. Four Sandhill Cranes were seen, one single bird and a flock of three.
Predictions: Tomorrow will be overcast with a high of 41F. There's a slight chance of rain showers. Winds ENE at 10-20mph. There probably won't be much movement with the ENE winds. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Maili Waters (<mailirwaters...>) Braddock Bay information may be found at: http://www.bbrr.org/
