Subject: [cayugabirds-l] Audubon's Rowe Sanctuary's Crane Camera | Explore.org
Hi folks.
The link is to a live cam of the cranes at the Audubon Rowe Sanctuary near
Gibbon Nebraska. I'm currently doing my 3rd stint as a volunteer guide and
Naturalist at Rowe and the latest flyover survey reported over 700,000
cranes along a stretch of river 50-90 miles long.
A new record. Here at Rowe we can have 200,000 along a 5 miles stretch of
river.
Anyway the cam operates 24/7 so enjoy it as you can. I'm told it's one of
the 3 largest animal migrations on the planet. Certainly the largest
grouping of sanhill cranes (mostly lessers) anywhere in the world.
Magnificent experience.
