Bruce and Paul, It is so good of you to keep us posted about dear Dave. It is sad news indeed--as many of us will miss him so. I will look through my photo files for some Povey shots, and I'm sure others will look through theirs too, in case you or others need them for a remembrance/memorial tribute for him. Let us know too if you hear of a service.SueSue SmithDel Mar, CASent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone -------- Original message --------From: "Bruce Rideout via groups.io" <bnkrideout...> Date: 3/24/25 4:53 PM (GMT-08:00) To: SanDiegoRegionBirding <SanDiegoRegionBirding...> Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] Sad news – Dave Povey Dave Povey passed away peacefully at 2:30 PM today, surrounded by his loved ones. Needless to say, those of us who were close to him are devastated. We don't have word yet on plans for a memorial service or how to send condolences, but we will pass along any information as it becomes available. We will also be planning some kind of remembrance within the birding community and we'll share those details in the coming days. Take a moment to remember Dave, it's hard to imagine a nicer guy or a better friend.Bruce Rideout and Paul LehmanSan Diego
