My first time to Montezuma this year on a return trip from Oswego, and I saw the Eurasian Wigeon on Savannah Spring Lake Rd east of Malone Marsh. There were only Shovelers further east on same at shorebird flatsGot to Colvin Marsh where Ring-billed, Mallard, American Wigeon and two pairs of Swans were hanging out. A quick stop at the Visitors Center featured 20 Sandhill Cranes and many Canada Geese.Needed to get home, but checked on the 2 Eagle nests on Rt. 90 (one just north of Union Springs and one just south of Aurora). The first had two mature eagles perched on the nest edges while the second had only one. Will have to make a longer visit once the Wildlife Drive opens next week.Colleen Richards
