Hello everyone,
Today Eve Meier and I led a SCVBA field trip to Shoreline Lake. It was a
lovely morning, and despite tricky lighting conditions at times, we had
some great looks at beautiful birds. Notable highlights were a male *Common
Yellowthroat* displaying beautifully to kick off the trip, a *Green
Heron* surprisingly out
in the open, two *White-tailed Kites* undergoing aerial courtship displays,
nearby *Forster's Terns* foraging over the lake, *Eared Grebes *in stunning
breeding plumage, nonstop singing from *Northern Mockingbirds*, and a pair
of *Cackling Geese*, presumably the same pair that I have seen the past
couple of months around the greater Shoreline area.
