- Comments: "Continuing adult, with contrasting brown mantle, full red frontal shield and yellow bill, present at this locality for months. Photos forthcoming."

Four more were seen quite a distance away (1/4 mile or so) in an area where I seldom see them. All have very bright rufous crowns now."

- Comments: "Very active in trees on NE side of pedestrian bridge. Striking black and white streaks on body and head, dark shading on the throat, white belly, white undertail coverts with black dots, and black triangular cheek patches on face. It foraged along the bark of the trunk and branches like a nuthatch. A challenge to photograph through the brush but accomplished. Will post pics later."
