Subject: [hmbirds] Duck Observation
My neighbor’s pond has had a large group of ducks on it for the past could of weeks. The vast majority are Ring-necked Ducks. I did a quick count (quick so as not to disturb them) and stopped counting when I hit 100! Of note is that the sex ratio is heavily skewed toward males. I think it’s in the neighborhood of 10:1 males to females (or even higher).

My question is if others have made a similar observation and why this may be the case.
