Observation start time: 09:00:00 Observation end time: 13:00:00 Total observation time: 4 hours
Official Counter: Mark Morris
Observers: Jack Miano, Joanne Hart
Weather: This watch was conducted as a narrow low pressure system receded from the watch site, delaying the start until the 9 am hour. Moderate winds from the NW 22-28 MPH with gusts to 41 and 100% cloud cover. Temps ranged from 37'-41'F and visibility was excellent. Wind chill to start was 19'F
Raptor Observations: There was no observing local TV's leaving their roosts. Migrating Raptors were recorded in all 4 hourly periods and seemed not too bothered by the wind; they migrated at low altitude. We had 6 different Raptor species migrate, which is normal this time in March. Many Red Tails were up throughout duration and seemed very comfortable with the conditions. Local Raptors:TV-6, BE-3, RS-2, RT-9
Non-raptor Observations: C.Goose-1, Common Merganser-34, Mourning Dove-3, Raven-2, Common Crow-19, Blue Jay-3, A.Robin-8, Starling-200+/-, House Sparrow- 15+/-, N.Cardinal-1, D.E.Junco-1, Brown Headed Cowbird-1
Predictions: Tomorrow's forecast looks very promising with SW winds 9-14 MPH with gusts as high as 26 and increasing clouds that always aids in spotting birds. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Mark Morris (<MDMRemodeling...>) Adams Farm - Athol MA information may be found at: https://massbird.org/emhw/
