Weather: A cold morning with temps in the low 30s. Clear skies to start with some clouds forming in the afternoon. Winds NNW at 20-30mph.
Raptor Observations: Given the NNW winds, significantly fewer birds passed by the platform today compared with the past few days. There was a small trickle of migrants throughout the day with a total of 106 individuals, 87 of which were Turkey Vultures. Other migrants included 10 Bald Eagles, 5 Red-tailed, and 3 Red-shouldered Hawks.
Non-raptor Observations: The ducks in the bay continue with American Wigeon, Gadwall, and Lesser Scaup being the most abundant. A flock of 5 Sandhill Cranes flew over calling.
Predictions: Tomorrow will have rain showers early with increasing winds and cloudy skies later in the day. Morning high of 47F with temps falling to near 35F. Winds WSW at 25-35mph with some higher gusts. The conditions are not ideal, but there is a chance of something moving before or after the rain. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Maili Waters (<mailirwaters...>) Braddock Bay information may be found at: http://www.bbrr.org/
