Yesterday afternoon I hiked down to the Quabbin Reservoir (couple miles from house) and although the birding was very quiet in the cove at the outlet to Hop Brook I saw 9 Bald Eagles (4 adults and 5 immatures). 6 were sitting on a sandy island in the cove and two adults were soaring overhead. One adult landed on the island with the others and later another adult came flying into the cove from the N. Also had a couple Phoebes and one pond was full of quacking Wood Frogs.
