Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] Anna's feeding a Rufous/Allen's or possible hybrid in La Jolla Colony Park
This morning while walking my dog, I got lucky to catch an Anna's hummer feeding a juvenile (good thing I had my camera with me). After the adult flew off and I walked a little closer, I realized the juvenile was not an Anna's. I called it a Rufous/Allen's because it's probably an Allen's but looks like a Rufous. It could be a hybrid, but to my amateur eyes, it doesn't appear to be.

Here's a link to my eBird checklist with photos in case anyone wants to take a look.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
