Webster Park at lower lakeshore parking lot, Monroe, New York, US
Mar 21, 2025 2:40 PM - 2:50 PM
Protocol: Stationary
Checklist Comments:    Quick stop on the way to a walk in Webster Park. First of the year for us E. Phoebe flycatching near left side of Lake Rd. just E. before entrance to the parking lot from the E.. Most of bird numbers estimates due to rough water and limited time.
11 species

Greater Scaup  2
Lesser Scaup  1
Harlequin Duck  1    Adult or very near adult male in breeding plumage actively diving just off the rocks at the west end of the parking lot. I assume this is a continuing of a bird seen along the lakeshore, including near here, over the past several weeks. It drifted west out of sight before we left. The scaup were feeding in the same general area and move back and forth in or out of sight while we were there. Most of the other ducks were well offshore or flyby.
White-winged Scoter  1
Long-tailed Duck  80
Common Goldeneye  4
Common Merganser  20
Red-breasted Merganser  40
Ring-billed Gull  15
American Herring Gull  2
American Crow  4
