Subject: [ia-bird] Glendale Merlins
I am still seeing 3 Merlins at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines. They have
been mostly in the central part of the grounds around sunset. Last night
(3/20, ss at 7:27), they were in treetops in Block 20, 27, and G between
about 7:22 and 7:32. In recent days they have also been seen in Blocks 15,
16, B, and H. It appears that there are 2 taigas and 1 prairie.
Also recently, some passerine species have been perched in treetops in a
similar manner to the Merlins, including starlings, Mourning Doves,
flickers, and robins.
