Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] Swainson's Hawks in Borrego Springs
This evening Wednesday 1/19, over 75 Swainson's Hawks entered Borrego
Springs. Check in at the official count site 2.9 miles north of Palm Canyon
Drive on DiGiorgio Rd for the best viewing site tomorrow. With light wind
the hawks will depart the valley between 9 and 10am. So far, 1,154
Swainson's Hawks have migrated through Borrego Springs. If you would like
to be added to the HAWK ALERT system when over 100 hawks enter the valley,
you can sign up at <Hawkwatchborregosprings...>

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
