Observation start time: 08:00:00 Observation end time: 14:00:00 Total observation time: 6 hours
Official Counter: Jerry McWilliams
Observers: Bernie O'Connor, Jim Baxter, Julie Leonard
Visitors: Bernie O'Connor and Julie Leonard assisted with the count most of the time with Jim Baxter assisting during the second and third hour. There were three visitors including my wife Linda.
Weather: Mostly clear early becoming mostly cloudy later. Continued strong SSW wind all day and unseasonably warm temps.
Raptor Observations: The strong south winds kept birds hugging the lake all day with many birds often seen well over the lake. It was another vulture day with few hawks, though I suspect some slipped past over the lake or high overhead. There was a steady flow of vultures at all heights, but were quite low for most of the morning. A few kettles, but none numbering over 34 birds.
Non-raptor Observations: Canada Goose 5, Rock Pigeon 8, Mourning Dove 2, Killdeer 4, Ring-billed Gull, American Crow, Tree Swallow 6, European Starling, American Robin, House Finch, Brown-headed Cowbird, Red-winged Blackbird, Common Grackle.
Predictions: Continued strong south wind, but cloudy with occasional rain, and falling temps. Maybe some birds between rain events in the morning. Jerry McWilliamsErie, Erie County, <Pa.jerrymcw...>
