Weather: Clear skies and brisk southerly winds at the start that moved the remaining lake ice to the Canadian side. Winds shifted to southwesterly midday.
Raptor Observations: Big TV showing but relatively light raptor numbers. Cloudless skies again made spotting challenging. As winds began to move southwesterly, the flight paused, so I ventured higher on the escarpment to the Parker Rd sight. However, little was moving there and birds were visible closer to the lake along the NYS Thruway. So I moved to the Forsythe Rd bridge where I spent the afternoon.
Non-raptor Observations: A lone Sand Hill Crane came through around noon.
Predictions: Partly cloudy skies, mild temperatures and brisk southerly winds should be conducive to a good flight. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Andy Dickson (<adickson3...>) Ripley Hawk Watch information may be found at: www.facebook.com/groups/3193820734258889/
