Weather: Cool morning at Adams Farm with a variable wind from the north 0-13mph. Clear to the west of us as clouds shrouded our ridge most of duration. Visibility was excellent.
Raptor Observations: We had our first migrating Accipiter(Aster)of the spring; a Cooper's Hawk; but that was the total amount of migrants for the count. I had the privilege of witnessing a brief but intense dog fight between a local RT and a Raven. 1 BV was perched on the Starrett Chimney early. Local Raptors: BV-1, TV-5, BE-3, SS-1, CH-1, RS-1, RT-6
Non-raptor Observations: C. Goose-2, C. Merganser-8, Hooded Merganser-1(F), Wood Duck-6, Ring Billed Gull-1, Mourning Dove-4, Downey Woodpecker-1, Raven-2, C. Crow-18, Blue Jay- 9, Black Capped Chickadee-1, A. Robin-2, E. Bluebird-1, Starling- 150+/-, House Sparrow- 20+/-, Song Sparrow-5, White Throated Sparrow-1, Dark Eyed Junco-4, N. Cardinal-2, A. Predictions: Tomorrow's forecast calls for sunny skies with calm winds to start increasing to 5-7mph from the Southeast in the afternoon, which may bring us a few more migrating Raptors. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Mark Morris (<MDMRemodeling...>) Adams Farm - Athol MA information may be found at: https://massbird.org/emhw/
