Elizabeth Copper and I resighted some of the continuing rarities in South San Diego County this morning, in company at times with Barbara Carlson and other birders. At Kimball Park in National City, the *dusky flycatcher* was very cooperative at times, but then disappearing for periods - initially seen in top of 2nd ornamental tree ENE of pedestrian bridge in SW portion of park, later in willow near large eucalyptus to ESE of bridge then flying across drainage to small willow near path ENE of bridge, later back and forth across drainage landing in small bi-trunked willow ENE of bridge, un-flycatcher-like foraging on ground of streambed, then in grass and lower branches of mulefat ESE of bridge. The *swamp sparrow* was seen only very briefly when it emerged on top of a pile of downed tules/cattails upstream just to the SE of the SE corner of the skatepark (also Lincoln's, song, & white-crowns in area before they all scattered). A male hooded oriole was singing atop a willow nearby. Multiple burrowing parakeets flew over the park.
Along Hollister in Tijuana River Valley, 3 black-throated magpie-jays were seen north of the intersection with Sunset. The male *Lawrence's goldfinch* was among the flock of lesser and Americans at feeders in the N central part of the community garden. After much searching of fruiting loquat trees, the *rose-breasted grosbeak* made an appearance at the top of a bare deciduous tree just E of the NE-most loquats in the garden, then disappeared again.
Later at South Bay saltworks, 2 *lesser yellowlegs* continued in pond 20, the burrowing owl continued on the SW dirtsalt pad of S pond 20, one *Pacific golden-plover* was among black-bellies on the road of WSW pond 23, at least 12 elegant terns were among the royals on the SW pond 23 island, and 3 female-type common goldeneye continued in W pond 13. (Elegant terns were also at the mouth of the Tijuana River, seen with Matt Sadowski and Lea Squires).
