Weather: There was a considerable drop in temperatures since yesterday's watch. Temperatures remained 30 - 31 A light layer of snow covered the vineyards at each watch site. Skies remained cloudy, and the wind was NNW. The big push of raptors yesterday was due to ideal weather conditions, and perhaps a rush to get through our area before cold weather returned,
Raptor Observations: The only sitings were local TV's and 1 local full adult Bald Eagle. There was no raptor movement, While at Site 1, it was obvious that any movement of raptors would be inland with the NNW wind. Equal time was spent at Sites 2 and 3. With a strong north wind at Site 3, I spent a brief time at the communication tower at Creamery & Douglas to check for migrants south of the normal watch sites. Nothing was moving through.
Non-raptor Observations: The day shut down everything, including non-raptors.
Predictions: Vast improvement with the weather is predicated for Tuesday, 03/17/2025. The forecast is mainly sunny. High 61F. Winds SSW at 10 to 20 mph. A resumption of the migration is quite probable ======================================================================== Report submitted by Michael Ceci (<michael.ceci541...>) Ripley Hawk Watch information may be found at: www.facebook.com/groups/3193820734258889/
