Weather: Cloudy, temps in the low 30s. NW winds at 15-25mph. Wind chill in the teens. A few quick rain and snow showers passed by in the late morning.
Raptor Observations: A pretty slow day with only a few migrant raptors. Started out with a few Northern Harriers early. Then there was a couple hour window with no birds in the late morning. By the afternoon, a few Turkey Vultures and Bald Eagles began to trickle by. However, the flight seemed to stop after a snow shower around 1:00.
Non-raptor Observations: Since it was so cold and windy, I was close to/in my car for most of the day. Therefore, I only did a quick scope of the bay for ducks. Gadwall and American Wigeon seemed to outnumber the other species. A Tree Swallow made a brief appearance over my car and continued to fly out over the bay.
Predictions: Mostly sunny with a few clouds. High of 57F. Winds out of the SW at 5-10mph. The wind direction is good, however it is a little light and might be overpowered by the lake breeze in the afternoon. Hopefully some birds will be on the move! ======================================================================== Report submitted by Maili Waters (<mailirwaters...>) Braddock Bay information may be found at: http://www.bbrr.org/
