I only have 1/2 days today through Wed. But still headed north. I hit mainly
Clinton county today. Still loads of waterfowl on Cowan lake! Nothing rare
Though….. I did have an early rough winged swallow. I’ll check my records
Tonight to see how early for me. Loads of tree swallows there. RB Mergs
I do believe stage at Cowan lake. Everywhere there! The east end of
The lake is flooded. Figures. After our monsoon rains Sat. and Sunday. So
Much for shorebirds there. But there’s so many flooded farm fields around
That I didn’t have any trouble locating Snipe. New for the county! I had 10
In one field. Another flooded field had pipits! New for the year for Clinton.
I hope these sky ponds as I think they are called provide some other shorebirds
For me later. I do not know where to get shorebirds in Clinton. I picked up
8 year birds for Clinton. Rock pigeon new?! Whatever….. ebird lets me know!
A quick stop in Warren. Harveysburg rd. 9 horned grebes in a tight flock.
New for the year! For Warren. But nothing else………Cowan lake has definitely
Been the better for waterfowl. Over Caesar creek.
Chipping sparrow Sat.
Good birding all. Spring is slowly coming!
