I have not had camera or binoculars on any of the 5 times I have seen and heard what appears to be a red breasted sapsucker flying, singing and drumming in the several trees at the corners of Upper Hillside and Caminto - Bassano East and - Bassano West. The one time I saw it close enough to see it fairly well without binoculars or camera it was in small trees and tall shrubs at the entry to the gardener’s garage of The Summit on Caminito Brisa. It is midway down the only block of Brisa. The bird had a dull grey chest, no white stripes on the face ( I believe that ruled out Williamson’s, which Merlin bird ID had listed as possible call) and slight amount of red on top of head.
Most recent sitings are on the Upper Hillside corners noted above.
