Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] Borrego Springs Swainson's Hawks
Today, Sunday March 16, 225 Swainson's Hawks migrated north. This evening
over 100 Swainson's Hawks entered the valley. Tomorrow, Monday March 17,
the hawks will kettle up and migrate between 8am and 10am. The moderate
wind may get them up a bit earlier. Check in at the official count site 2.8
miles north of Palm Canyon Drive on DiGiorgio Rd for the location of the
hawks. The total number of migrant hawks migrating through Borrego Springs
is almost 1,000 this season.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
