Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] Swainson's Hawk Migration-Borrego Springs-Monday 3/10-morning and evening
Monday morning, March 10-120 Swainson's Hawks and 20 Turkey Vultures
migrated. This evening (Monday), just before 7pm at least 125-150
Swainson's Hawks dropped into Tamarisk trees in a few locations. Tomorrow
(Tuesday-3/11) the weather could be a challenge. The wind will be low but
with rainy periods. We suggest you check in at the day count site for the
location of the hawks. The site is located 2.8 miles north of Palm Canyon
Drive on DiGiorgio Rd. The hawks will probably change their current
location and migration may occur anywhere from 8-10am.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
