The action around the Winter Crow Roost in Lawrence continues to be spectacular!
For the past month, the Crows have been staging in and around The Great Stone Dam by the Merrimack River on Broadway in Lawrence. The Crows can be seen staging in the area and then converging into the overnight roost trees located at the NE corner of the Rt. 28 (O'Leary Bridge) in the SW corner of Pemberton Park.
The blog has a number of updates from recent visits with both ground, aerial, infrared, and even a new round of groundbreaking thermal imaging from a new research project to monitor large aggregations on non-breeding birds.
Finally, the Crow Patrol and the renowned winter crow roost was featured in a talk I was honored to present in a special session on Wildlife Ecology at a recent international conference in Granda, Spain!
