Zone-tailed Hawk (Buteo albonotatus) (1)
- Reported Mar 08, 2025 08:41 by Kathleen Kent
- Oakview Village, San Luis Obispo, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&<q...>,-120.660672&<ll...>,-120.660672 - Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S217286673 - Comments: "I could clearly see a fairly broad white band near the terminal end of the hawks tail. It circled overhead for a minute or two and I took photos with my iPhone. I can’t carry my DSLR camera yet, after shoulder surgery a month ago, so FRUSTRATINGLY, I could not take advantage of an opportunity to get good ID photos of the bird. I saw the bird at 10:15am about 1 mile east of Atascadero Lake, so hopefully there may be other sightings. The bird finally flew in a northeasterly direction, probably over Atascadero and heading northeast. The width of the band suggests an adult bird. There were no other birds flying in the area that this bird was seen (no TUVUs or any other birds)."
Chipping Sparrow (Spizella passerina) (6)
- Reported Mar 08, 2025 08:41 by Kathleen Kent

All with fairly bright rufous crowns and prominent white supercilliums."
