Hi everyone,
Walking the Labs this morning, I heard a Red-shouldered Hawk way up above
us. I looked around to rule-out a neighborhood Jay playing with our heads.
We confirmed true hawkness and it landed to roost near last year’s nesting
tree. We’ve had a nesting pair for years here in Rowley, usually arriving
in March a bit earlier than we hear the first Wood Frogs.
The late John Gould was a beloved Maine author, farmer and bird lover. I
