I went specifically to see my sleeping Canvasbacks, and found them, ad well as two Redheads sleeping with them. As usual, in the lee of the north side shore of the pond during NW winds. Additionally, four Ruddy Ducks were near them and the Bufflehead flock. A great surprise to see both the Redheads and Ruddy Ducks. Frash Pond is literally one of the very few reliable places to enjoy seeing these 3-5 Canvasbacks that visit the pond each winter, as decades ago you could see them in more places and in more numbers throughout the state each winter.

I did meet a young fellow birder there, but forgot his name.
