A hybrid adult male Green-winged x Eurasian Green-wing Teal. continued to be seen this morning on Turri Ponds. It was moving with a small group of GWTE in the first pond east of So. Bay Blvd. It clearly showed both the vertical white stripe of a Green-wing and the horizontal white strip along the scapulars of the Eurasian Teal. After having the chance to observe the Eurasian Teal a few weeks ago at Cuesta Inlet in Los Osos it was an added benefit to now be able to include the hybrid in less than one month to complete the GWTE teal list.
The Turri Rd pond GWTE hybrid was first reported yesterday by Petra and Jack Clayton.

Previously considered separate species but united as a single species by Peters (Peters 1931 <https://birdsoftheworld.org/bow/species/gnwtea/cur/references#REF60462>) because of hybridization.
