Subject: [ia-bird] Saylorville Lake Bald Eagles
Just drove across the Saylorville mile-long bridge. There is a remaining ice
span, along the north side of the bridge, and I conservatively estimate
there are 250 eagles scattered across the ice, like stars in the sky! There
might even be 300. One can only take occasional glances while driving across
the bridge, so an accurate count is not possible. The ice is going out
quickly, so this may only last today and possibly tomorrow. It's the largest
eagle grouping I've ever seen..
