This morning I spent a couple of hours at Bohnett Park, where there was a lot of bird activity in spite of the weed-whacking going on near the creek edge. My best bird there was a Black-throated Gray Warbler. I did not find the continuing Warbling Vireo. (This bird has been at Bohnett Park for 12 winters; I've actually managed to see it only during one of them!). Some of the continuing American Goldfinches are starting to molt into their bright yellow alternate plumage
With a 10:00 appt. cancelled at the last minute, I ended up at Rocky Nook Park, which was booming with activity by local park and oak woodland birds, especially Orange-crowned Warblers. My best find there was a very cooperative Brown Creeper in the oak trees just north of the playground equipment.
