Weather: A mix of sun and clouds with gusty winds. Temps in the mid 30s. West winds 25-35mph with gusts over 40. Winds shifted to WNW around 2pm.
Raptor Observations: I started out the morning with some local Bald Eagles and a Northern Harrier hunting over the marsh. Slowly some migrants began to pass by for a total of 1 Bald Eagle, 3 Northern Harriers, 9 Turkey Vultures, and 1 Peregrine Falcon. The Peregrine was one of the last birds of the day. It started out as a speck up high over the parkway pines, however it soon became evident that it was heading straight for the platform. I was able to watch it as it came directly over my head and continued on its way southeast.
Non-raptor Observations: The bay has started to open up more so there were some larger duck flocks in the open water. There were also over a hundred Tundra Swans sitting on the ice. A few small flocks of Snow Geese flew over.
Predictions: Similar conditions as today. Partly cloudy, highs in the low 30s, WNW winds at 20-30mph. Not expecting much movement. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Maili Waters (<mailirwaters...>) Braddock Bay information may be found at: http://www.bbrr.org/
