This morning STeve Colwell and I checked the for the Painted Bunting and Broad-billed Hummingbird in the willows next to Carpinteria Sanitary District Offices but came up short. We continued on Sixth Street over to the corner of Sixth and Walnut, where we picked up the very active continuing Palm Warbler; first in a small oak tree at the northeast corner of Sixth and Walnut; then it flew into a Coral Tree in the parking lot of the Super Springs Warehouse; then into the top of an Avocado tree near the northwest corner of Sixth and Walnut where we lost sight of it.
We continued into Carpinteria State Park where Steve located the continuing Green-tailed Towhee in the blooming Encelia (sunflower) plants in the middle of the little traffic circle.
FYI: All the restrooms near the Palm Avenue entrance are closed for the time being "because of maintenance" and because it's the slow season.
